BEAUTY PORTRAITS BY RED RIVER STUDIOS

Well it is that time of year when the wedding season slows down and we photographers get a chance to either sit and chill or go get creative !!! i love having the time to push the bounderies in my Beauty photography!!! trying to create new photographs that have depth and soul !!! Here at RED RIVER STUDIOS we always like to keep our ideas fresh and up to date so our wedding brides can see how next years photographs might be give them ideas !! so here are a few from my shoot with Caitlin Milligan last week ,

We always start of with that simple portrait !!! good lighting in this case 3 point lighting with a large softbox to the front of Caitlin, i would have preferred a good Beauty Dish as it compliments the models skin so much better ,

A simple pose dropping the head to the side helps create a softer light less shadows !!!

As Caitlin has such a classical look i thought that a softer approach might be a better idea so we introduced a few pieces of tull fabric!! simple but like a veil it softens the face so much more although you do require your model to have very good skin as you cannot post edit any blemishes if shooting through this material !!!

And to my last two shoots the ones that i was hoping to achieve !! 

The lighting is quiet harsh i was using Bowens 500 pro heads and the main light turned up quiet high to give the bleached affect on Caitlins skin!!!

This has to be one of my favorite shot's of all time !!!!

This model is fast becoming my all time favorite and i know she will be a star in the future !!! watch this space !!!

Weddings in Carlingford Four Seasons Hotel

As A Carlingford based Photography company it always amazed me that we never get local weddings !!! well not a lot of them !!! but that is slowly changing , the reason was that been so close to Northern Ireland we always were competing with weekend warriors shooting for pennies !! but even in a recession brides are realizing the value of hiring a professional ! With years of experience and a creative flare to capture their wedding day in a fresh way !!! Enter Red River Studios !! I am delighted to be kicking off 2012 with three weddings in Carlingford if February !!! all here beside us where we really know how to get the most out of the stunning surroundings of this Heritage village, from the stunning Abbey

to the wonderful narrow streets the tolstel and two !! wonderful castles  to chose from what more could you wish for !!  If your wedding Reception is in The Four Seasons Hotel or Gahn House we can always make use of the wonderful surroundings they have to offer !!! so why not give us a call and drop in to our new gallery for a chat and a cup of coffee and view our wedding albums and photographs from so many of our happy brides over the last number of years !!!

New Venice Albums Arrive at Red River Studios

I was delighted to see the courier van pull up this morning from DPD !! , i knew that our first set of albums from Venice Albums were due and although we are getting lots of deliveries at the moment for our framing and printing workshops i suspected this was my wedding Albums ! Venice Albums

 I was a bit like a child at christmas opening the boxes !!! the girls in the office were laughing at me been so excited !!!but i was so impressed !!!! such a fantastic range of product !!! from the main album finished in an Acrylic cover to the parent albums with their own individual boxes !!!






The Paper is afine Photographic one like we use here at our printing workshop, al of which is laminated for a sheer protection !!!
